Will an USA savegame work with my EUR game?

No. Savegames are region locked. Therefor you will have to search for a savegame that matches the region of your game.If you can't find a suitable savegame, you could always switch the region of your game. Most 3DS flashcarts allow you to play games from other regions.

Are all savegames compatible with my 3DS flashcart?

No. You will notice that most savegames on this site are tested on Gateway 3DS, but some are for other flashcarts such as the 3DS-Link, MT-Card or the R4i Gold. When you are to download a savegame, pay special attention to the flashcart used to create the savegame. Sometimes saves from one flashcart work on another, but there is no guarantee that they do.

Different software versions of the same flashcart should all be forward compatible. Meaning that a save from Gateway 3DS 2.2 will work on Gateway 3DS 2.3b, but perhaps not on Gateway 3DS 2.0.

I've downloaded a savegame, now what?

When you want to load (or backup) a savegame you will have to copy it to your 3DS. Different flashcarts have different methods.

For Gateway 3DS and R4i Gold, savegames are stored on the root of your 3DS SD card (the one inside your 3DS system, not the MicroSD card inside your flashcart). They should be named after the TitleID of the game they're being used for. All savegames downloaded from www.3ds-savegames.com are named after their proper TitleID, i.e. 0004000000053F00.sav for Super Mario 3D Land (EUR).

For MT-Card, savegames are stored on your MicroSD card inside your flashcart. They should be named after the filename of the game they're being used for, i.e. Super_Mario_3D_Land_EUR.sav if your filename is Super_Mario_3D_Land_EUR.3ds.
